Our Approach to Therapy and Counselling
Imagine coming into the therapy space. You have your bucket of jigsaw puzzles with you, and you pour the content of this bucket out onto the floor or the table. The therapist will ask you: “Do you like what you see? Do you want to change anything here?”
And this is where the collaboration will commence. The therapist will then help you unpack the issues, put together bits that fit together, and make a new jigsaw puzzle with you that is tailored to your needs and wants.
Unfortunately, the therapist is like a ghost in this room, since it has to be you who moves the pieces of the puzzle in order to change your life, but you will do it under the guidance of and in collaboration with the therapist. This is how therapy is being delivered at 2 B Myself.
Clinical Supervision
Narrative approach is the underlying approach for clinical supervision, and the person is in charge of navigating and guiding their clinical supervision. It is also understood that whatever affects the person in their personal life also affects their work. Hence the question is “where does the personal ends and where does the professional being commences?”
Pricing
Currently the usual rate is $180/hour. However, once TL is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker, then Medicare rebate is available. Please watch this space for the latest update.
Mental health care plan/Medicare rebate:
For clients who are on low income (Centrelink payment), there is always the option of bulk billing (no gap fee) and you will need your GP to make a referral with a “mental health care plan” for Medicare rebate.
For clients who are working, please feel free to ask your GP to make a referral with a “mental health care plan”, depending on your income, we can negotiate your pricing bracket, which can be discussed individually.
Health fund rebates through private health extra cover:
For clients who have extra cover on their private health fund, you are welcome to make claims via your own health fund. Please inquire with your own health fund about their rebate rate.
